Short edition of the World Festival of Animated Film Animafest Zagreb takes place this year from June 3rd to 8th. We in Bonobostudio are very happy that our production (and distribution) participates in the festival so we decided to make a short overview of the programmes with our films.

Hunger by Petra Zlonoga premiered in Kino Europa in April and had a festival screening at the Days of Croatian Film. You can see it also at Animafest: in the Grand Panorama.

Pinball by Darko Vidačković will be screened in the Croatian Panorama.

Graduation music film Out From the Deep by a young author Katrin Novaković  will be screened in the Children Competition (14+).

Competition of Commissioned Films features our TV commercial Evotv: Here's Autumn! directed by Kristijan Petrović and animated by Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson.

Ivana's and Thomas' recently finished film Simulacra had its premiere in Kino Europa this April, but it also won an Oktavijan Award for The Best Animated Film by the Croatian Film Critics’ Society. You can catch it in the special programme dedicated to Croatian Stop Animation, and then follow the making off and puppets at the exhibition in ULUPUH Gallery during Animafest.

In that kino-programme dedicated to stop animation, along with Simulacra, two more films from the Studio will be screened: Soldat by David Peroš Bonnot and In the Beginning of Time… by Božidar Trkulja. The latter will also be presented at the puppet exhibition at ULUPUH Gallery, together with Out From the Deep by Katrin Novaković.

The Annecy International Animation Festival takes place from 9th to 14th of June in a picturesque French city of Annecy which grows every year for more than 7 thousand people from the world of animated film. Bonobostudio always visits the festival and sometimes we take our films with us! This year Annecy is exchanging stop motion programmes with Animafest Zagreb so the world audience will be able to watch four films from our production and distribution: The Market by Ana Hušman, In the Beginning of Time… by Božidar Trkulja, Soldat by David Peroš Bonnot and Simulacra by Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson.
