It’s is not very often that we receive awards for all the Bonobostudio films in a festival competition. But indeed, International Animated Film Festival Supertoon (July 16 – 21) ended on Friday with some happy news for us.
Eva Cvijanović’s Hedgehog’s Home won its lucky thirteenth prize. With several major international awards – Berlinale, Animafest, Annecy – Hedgy is doing really well on home ground, where it won prizes at KIKI in Zabok, VAFI in Varaždin, Kratki na brzinu in Sveti Ivan Zelina, Mediterranean Film Festival in Split and Croatian Film Days in Zagreb.
Nighthawk by Špela Čadež totals fourteen awards so far, and among them we have to mention DOK Leipzig, GLAS Animation Film Festival, Holland Animation Film Festival, Ars Electronica, Animafest Grand Prix, Animateka awards etc.
Both films will have a productive summer: they meet at Anima Mundi in Brazil, and then go on each on its own. Hedgehog’s Home to Motovun, Guanajuato in Mexico and Postira at island Brač, and Nighthawk to Animix (Tel Aviv), Anibar (Peja, Kosovo), Imaginaria (Conversano, Italy) and Turku (Finland). Stay tuned!
