Exis in Korea, Belo Horizonte in Brazil, 25 FPS in Zagreb; that’s a September... more
After its world premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival and the Croatian debut at the Motovun Film Festival in August and earlier in September, the latest film directed by Igor Bezinović (A Brief Excursion) and Ivana Pipal, Microcassette – The Smallest Cassette I've Ever Seen, has just screened at the recently finished Croatian Film Days (held Sept, 16 – 19) and prepares for upcoming jaunts to the Drama International Short Film Festival, which takes place in Greece Sept, 20 – 26, and the 25 FPS Festival of Experimental Film, held in Zagreb Sept, 24 – 27.
The following leg of the festival tour will include stops at the StopTrik IFF in Maribor, Slovenia (Oct, 8 – 10) and Lodz, Poland (Nov, 6 – 8), as well as the Kaohsiung Film Festival, Taiwan (Oct, 16 – Nov, 1) and the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival (Oct, 27 – Nov, 1), where it will screen in the Constellations section.
The 19-minute Microcassette – The Smallest Cassette I've Ever Seen traces a man named Zoki, who discovers a microcassette among the heaps of garbage at a large local landfill on the island of Lošinj. The directing duo further studies the discarded object, which serves as a witty tribute to chance and imagination.
Titular roles in the film are played by Đorđe Branković and Petra Zlonoga.
