Vexed is not vexed

Vexed 20
Film Vexed is not vexed – actually quite contrary – it calmly continues its second successful festival year.

These days we are really talking about the Dutch experimental film Vexed here in Croatia. The abstract 30-minute tour de force is a cover image of the latest edition of a great Croatian film magazine Filmonaut, featuring also a major interview with one of the film directors, Gideon Kiers. The conversation reveals interesting details about a complex film such as Vexed: from making of the instruments which would be able to capture image and sound to programming the software which would be able to produce a truly unique synthetic universe.

But Vexed is not just a theoretical toy for learning about true experimental film, it is also a full-on experiment which will be screened in the next two months at few major international film and new media festivals. Akbank Short Film Festival in Istanbul screens Vexed in the competition on the 20th and 26th of March, International Short Filmfest Dresden on the 18th and 20th of April, Australian International Experimental Film Festival between 1st and 5th of May in Melbourne, and few days later, from 8th to 11th of May you can see Vexed in the programme of WRO Art Media Biennale in Wroclaw.

The film Vexed, directed by Telcosystems and distributed by Bonobostudio, won two international awards in the past year and has been screened at 15 major experimental film festivals so far.
