...starting with the jubilee edition of the longest-running independent and experimental film festival in North America, Ann Arbor (March 27th to April 1st 2012).
This year Americans will celebrate the golden anniversary of experimental film at Ann Arbor Film Festival, the longest-running independent and experimental film festival in North America and one of the oldest in the world. For 50 years Ann Arbor has been featuring a really interesting mixture of experimental and independent films, and this year the new film by Telcosystems, Vexed, will be among them.
Telcosystems had already been showing films at Ann Arbor: in 2009 their Loudthings received the Gus Van Sant Award for Best Experimental Film, and in 2011 they have presented a curated film program and a live performance. This year, after a premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Vexed will be the one crossing the Atlantic Ocean to be screened in the Ann Arbor Competition Program. The show is scheduled for Thursday night, March 29th, in the Main Auditorium of the Michigan Theater. If you are nearby – go and visit. 50 years guarantees a really special edition!
