Animated week in Zagreb brought even more joy than we could have anticipated ... more
This year, more than 130 films of all genres and lengths competed for the 2024 Oktavijan Awards, presented by the Croatian Society of Film Critics. However, only eight films took home the prizes, including two titles distributed by Bonobostudio. I Would Rather Be a Stone by Ana Hušman (produced by Pangolin) won the Oktavijan for Best Experimental Film, while Žarko, You Will Spoil the Child! by Veljko and Milivoj Popović (produced by Prime Render Studios, Bagan Films, 3D2D Animatori) won the Oktavijan for Best Animated Film.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the authors and their film crews on this valuable recognition!
The Oktavijan Award was established by the Croatian Society of Film Critics in 1992, and named after the founder of Croatian and Yugoslav cinematography, Oktavijan Miletić, the first Croatian filmmaker to systemically devote his professional life to film.
