Experimental films by Marko Meštrović and Davor Sanvincenti will be competing at the oldest North American avant-garde film festival.

“The mission of the Ann Arbor Film Festival is to promote bold, visionary filmmakers through the advancement of film and new media art, and to engage communities with remarkable cinematic experiences.” This is a statement of Ann Arbor Film Festival – the oldest experimental film festival in the US, founded in 1963. We have presented several films at Ann Arbor during the years, and even won an award, but this year we are happy to have two Croatian films in the competition program: Almost Nothing: So Continues the Night by Davor Sanvincenti (Competition 10) and Marko Meštrović’s Trip (Competition 3). We wish them good luck with the fantastic Ann Arbor jury: Ephraim Asili, Cecelia Condit and Rea Tajiri. If you happen to visit the festival, make sure to see a small retrospective of Karpo Godina’s early works.

56th Ann Arbor takes place March 20–25 in Michigan.
