Dove sei, amor mio is the Best Animated Film for Adults at Anifest Rozafa and... more
Before writing about the awards, maybe we should mention that A Brief Excursion – debut feature for our great documentary director and soon-to-be animated filmmaker as well (Microcassette - A Redundant Detective Story; w/ Ivana Pipal, prod. Bonobostudio) – is proudly distributed by Bonobostudio.
A Brief Excursion is an adaptation of Antun Šoljan’s novel. A motive of a ‘journey to the unknown’ was used to criticise the political situation of the 60ies, uncannily similar to the time almost 60 years later.
Andrei Tarkovsky Zerkalo International Film Festival, named after one of his most beautiful movies, Mirror, featured ten films in the main competition programme and Igor Bezinović won the Best Director Award. A Brief Excursion also won the Voice Award, granted by the 6-member young critics’ jury, ex aequo with a Russian film Closeness by Kantemir Balagov, which premiered at Cannes this year.
Bezinović’s film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in February this year, and was screened after that at Kino Otok in Isola, and Underhill Fest in Podgorica. Croatian premiere is scheduled at Pula Film Festival. A Brief Excursion was produced by Pangolin Studio.
