International Animation Film Festival Golden Kuker (May 1 – 7) celebrated its eighth edition in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia. The festival has been inspired by the famous Bulgarian animator Proyko Proykov, who is still present in the title of one of the special festival awards. The Proyko Proykov Prize is awarded to the best film of the festival’s theme. This year the honor was granted to Vessela Dantcheva and Ivan Bogdanov and their film Travelling Country.
Together with the Golden Kuker prize we have to mention the award from Mediawave Festival in Hungary (April 27 – May 2). Travelling Country won the prize for the best online film! Voters were the festival website visitors, and the Mediawave audience – so we are tempted to say it was a kind of an audience award. Reformation Award for the Best Film Online is eleventh award for the film, which premiered exactly one year ago.
