Generation Kplus or the Competition Programme for kids at the International Berlin Film Festival ended its 10-day screening schedule today. Children’s Jury decided on the best films and Hedgehog’s Home – a NFB and Bonobostudio co-production directed by Eva Cvijanović – was also on the list! We are particularly happy that the jury was impressed by wonderful original lyrics, but also for recognizing the key message: home is the most important place in the world. We should think about that a lot today, in the times of sad migrations and destruction.
Hedgehog’s Home had a big crew in Croatia: Vanja Andrijević (producer), Eva Cvijanović (director, screenplay, editor, animation, set, props), Ivana Bošnjak, Thomas Johnson (animation, puppets), Kata Gugić, Dina Karadžić, Marko Meštrović (sets, props), Mario Kalogjera (postproduction), Iva Kraljević (editor), Darko Rundek (music), Ivan Slipčević (dop), Rade Šerbedžija (narrator), Miroslav Šimeg (organizer, assistant), Vanda Mikšić and Evaine Le Calvé-Ivičević (French translation), as well as Tim Allen (design and animation consultant) from UK.
The Canadian crew were: Olivier Calvert (sound design), France Castel (narrator), Eloi Champagne (technical director), Michael Fukushima (executive producer), Jelena Popović (producer), Elise Simard (optical effects), Kenneth Welsh (narrator), Amela Marin (English translator).
Congratulations also to Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović’s film Into the Blue – another Croatian film screened at this year’s Berlinale – for winning a Special Mention in Generation 14plus Programme! We hope that these successful stories will send a positive message about the hard work we do, but also about the solid organization of the film system in Croatia established in the last decade by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.
