Dove sei, amor mio is the Best Animated Film for Adults at Anifest Rozafa and... more
Simulacra is a short puppet animation by Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson. It’s the same artistic duo working on Hedgehog’s Home film (dir. Eva Cvijanović, prod. NFB, Bonobostudio) and plotting their new animated film in Bonobostudio production.
Simulacra premiered in April 2014 in Kino Europa, Zagreb, and in two years it was screened in competition programs at 60 international film festivals, winning nine awards: StopTrik Festival, Balkanima, Sedicicorto, Anibar, including ASIFA Croatia’s award for Best Croatian Animated Film in 2015. Some of major festivals are Animafest and Annecy (Croatian Stop Animation Program), Encounters, LIAF, DOK Leipzig, HAFF etc. Film was also screened at Croatian TV and Klasik TV, and it was also presented in galleries/museums: at Klovićevi dvori and during the Animafest stop-motion exhibition.
Here you can read the interview with Ivana and Thomas made in Bristol during Encounters Festival and, most importantly, you can watch Simulacra from now on whenever you want – and wherever you are! Here’s the Vimeo link for the film and for the making of too. Also: don’t forget to browse Simulacra’s Flickr albums: making of and Simulacra on tour.
