The past weekend brought seven awards to our films at three film events in the region – from Primanima and Banjaluka festivals to the International Animation Day organized by ASIFA Croatia.

Primanima (24–27 October) is an international festival of animated film taking place in Budaörs, Hungary. We were very happy that in the past weekend two of our films won awards at Primanima. Eva Cvijanović’s Hedgehog’s Home won Children’s Jury Special Mention and Two For Two by Jelena Oroz won a Special Mention for sound, which was made by Dinko Klobučar and David Lovrić. The festival was founded in 2012 and is mostly interested in debutant films, young authors and filmmakers who just finished their studies.

Banjaluka International Animated Film Festival ended this Sunday, October 28 with an award ceremony and Veljko Popović’s film Cyclists, won the Award for Creativity and Artistic Expression. The film which uses Vasko Lipovac’s visuals also won a Special Mention at the International Animation Day organized by ASIFA Croatia in Tuškanac Cinema this weekend. Together with Cyclists, special mentions were shared by two films from Bonobostudio production – Two For Two and One of Many, a new film by Petra Zlonoga. We are very happy that Zlonoga’s new film was mentioned by Croatian animation professionals in one of its first public screenings. The winner of ASIFA Croatia Award for Best Professional Film in 2018 is Igor Grubić’s film How Steel Was Tempered.
