Tess Martin's new film will premiere at the prestigious festival in Rotterdam..

Experimental animated film Orbit will have its world premiere in the competition program Voices at International Film Festival Rotterdam, which will be held from January 23rd to February 3rd 2019.

Orbit is a short film (also an installation) composed of carefully designed drawings based on the relationship between humanity and the sun, about the unrestricted and natural recurring life cycle inevitably reaching an obstacle in human form.

Tess Martin is the award-winning American independent animator currently living in the Netherlands whose works have been exhibited in numerous galleries worldwide and shown at film festivals. She shapes her work by erasing the boundaries between experimental and narrative, film and art. She also directs and animates various commissioned projects, gives lectures at universities in the United States and the Netherlands, and moderates Manifest Show & Tell, monthly discussions on animation held in Rotterdam.
