Lost Touch premiering at Locarno FF

Produced by Swiss Asako Film, Justine Klaiber's Lost Touch will have its world premiere at this year's Locarno Film Festival (6.-16.8.), in the national competition of Pardi di Domani section.

The film's protagonist is Amelia, the sole survivor on a damaged spaceship. Caught in the gravitational pull of a planet, she struggles with grief and isolation. When a mysterious presence appears, she is torn between the past and the future.

Justine Klaiber (1989), director, scriptwriter and editor, further explained the film concept and inspiration: "Almost anyone can identify with the fear of losing a loved one. It is the fear of losing a deep personal bond with this person, as well as of remaining alone with the ensuing feelings of helplessness and paralysis. The idea behind Lost Touch is based on these emotions, but goes a step further. In it, I try to convey the sense of loneliness and desolation that sets in after the loss of someone important. At first glance, the connection seems to have been brutally severed. Upon closer inspection, however, something remains, like the invisible trace that lingers on the skin after a touch. Whether through memories or spiritually, this emotional connection provides comfort and gives us strength."

We are very much looking forward to this premiere! Keep in touch with the film's festival journey by checking our calendar section.
