Great news from Greece: Katrin Novaković won The Best Animated Film Award. more
International Short Film Festival Oberhausen celebrates its 61st edition this spring, which makes it the oldest short film festival in Europe, probably in the world as well. Its prestigious competition program features innovative films, often with a strong social tone or commentary. We are very happy to say that this year (April 30 – May 5) one Croatian film will be a part of the Oberhausen main competition program: Levitation by Marko Meštrović.
The film is made in 2014 in Kreativni sindikat production, and Bonobostudio handles the distribution. It is an allegory about the force which defies gravity and makes things light as a feather – or a sail boat.
Oberhausen Festival takes pride in its special programs too: panels about important issues in the world of short film, author retrospectives, and a festival theme –organised in few film programs. This year’s theme is 3D cinema, and one of the films screened in this program section is Archeo 29 (2010) by Vladislav Knežević produced by Bonobostudio. The film is still very much up to date, since it deals with a very important year in the history of the world, 1929, a moment before the global crisis. The film was screened at more than 20 festivals, and it won Oktavijan Award for the Best Experimental Film at Croatian Film Days 2010.
