Film by Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson received its 11th award at Exground Filmfest.

Animated film Imbued Life by Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson won the award for the best short film in International Competition of Exground Filmfest. The 32nd festival edition took place in Wiesbaden, 15-24 November 2019.

The Jury members for the International Short Film Competition were: Burkhard Althoff, commissioning editor for ZDF - German Public Television from Mainz, Christy Garland, documentary film director from Toronto, and Brunna Laboissière, director and producer from São Paulo. Their explanation for the award is:

“This poetic stop-motion animation cinematically left room for thoughtful interpretation, blurring the line between human and animal consciousness and addressing one of the most urgent issues confronting humankind- our troubled connection to the natural world. While exploring the visions we all carry around, this film will imbue you with images you’ll never forget.”

The award at Exground Filmfest is already the 11th award for Imbued Life since its premiere at Oberhausen Film Festival this May. So far it has been selected for competition programmes at 60 film festivals, including Animafest, Annecy i Leeds.
