Travelling Country and Nighthawk awarded at festivals in Bugaria and Spain. more
Film Hunger by Petra Zlonoga was completed in April, and right after its premiere in Cinema Europa in Zagreb, it started the Croatian festival circuit: first at the Days of Croatian Film, then Animfaest Zagreb (Panorama Programme) and Tabor Film Festival, where it won the Best Experimental Film Award.
Hunger’s international festival tour starts this July in Mexico, at Animasivo, and continues at the three biggest world festivals of animated film in the next three summer months. First from “the big three” is the Brazilian Anima Mundi, taking place in Rio and Sao Paulo from 26th of July.
After Brazil we travel to Hiroshima, to the biggest international festival of animated film in Japan. 2.217 films were applied and 59 were selected. Hunger is the only Croatian film in the competition, and it is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd of August. You can meet the author Petra Zlonoga in Japan from 21st to 25th of August.
Third continent we’ll visit (virtually) is North America, where in Ottawa in the middle of September the biggest Canadian international festival of animated film - OIAF takes place. The festival receives about 2.100 submissions and 100 films get selected for the competition programmes. Special guest at OIAF this year, and a member of international jury, is David OReilly.
