Hunger by Petra Zlonoga and Simulacra by Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson are having a very promising festival autumn with seven screenings just in September. Italian audience saw the films at Milano Film Festival, and this week they are presented to the British audience at Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival in Bristol.
Twentieth edition of one of the leading festivals of animated and short film, Encounters, screens in thirty or more programs some of the most interesting animated and short films in the past year. Awarded works will be directly nominated for BAFTAs, Oscar, European Academy Award and Cartoon d'Or. Hunger screens on Friday 19th in the program Strange Beauty and Simulacra day later in the program Fear and Loading – with authors in attendance.
This week we are sharing one more success. Hunger is selected for the International Showcase at the 38th Ottawa International Animation Festival. OIAF is the biggest festival of animated film in the North America, also one of the oldest: it was founded in 1976 by the Canadian Film Institute. The festival receives more than 2 000 applications and this year screens only one Croatian film. Petra’s film is scheduled for September 18th and 20th.
