Petra Zlonoga’s first author film is now available on Vimeo!

Petra Zlonoga is a well known Croatian animator, illustrator and a designer. When she is not busy with a new film or a project, she is doing animation workshops. And when she is making films, she adapts to different topics and styles. Her student films about Daniil Ivanovič she realized in stop-motion techniques, and the newer ones are made in more classic techniques, like pencil and ink on paper like in her first professional film Hunger. That 6-minute film was produced in Bonobostudio in 2014, and was screened since in 60 competition programs at major film festivals – from Hiroshima, Ottawa, LIAF to Animateka, Animafest and MIAF.

Hunger won several mentions as well: at Tabor, Supertoon, Anibar and Animanima, and it was screened on Croatian Third TV Program and Klasik TV. Petra Zlonoga directed it and wrote a screenplay. Croatian animator Jelena Oroz helped with animation and coloring; film was edited by Iva Kraljević, and the sound is a piece by an Italian sound master Andrea Martignoni.

Zlonoga is currently touring the world stage with her new film Dota (2016), produced in Kinoklub Zagreb as part of a project dedicated to old biennial experimental film festival The Genre Film Festival. Dota has been screened at 30 film festivals so far (including Annecy, Animafest, OIAF etc.), and it won several awards too. But let’s leave Dota to circulate a bit more.
