Main Competition Jury at Balkanima (3 – 7 October) – Andrej Kulev (Bulgaria), Mihaela Majcen Marinić (Croatia) and Nikola Majdak jr. (Serbia) – gave the Award for Best Film of South-Eastern Europe to Hedgehog’s Home for "its contemporary approach to a classic tale and successful combination of the best Balkan ingredients in audiovisual medium." The Film also won the Best Children’s Film Prize because "of its clear message to appreciate what we have. Despite multiple ordeals, Hedgehog did not succumb to pressure – he stayed true to himself and saved his home."
Eva Cvijanović’s film was produced by the National Film Board (Canada) and Bonobostudio (Croatia). First award for Hedgy arrived from Berlinale, and it won almost 20 awards in the past 8 months – from Annecy to Animafest and OIAF. You can catch Hedgehog’s Home at two major film festivals – at the New York Film Festival (28 September – 15 October) and BFI London Film Festival (4 – 15 October).
