Caries premiering at 2025 Sundance Film Festival

Sundance caries branded still
Animated short Caries by Aline Höchli, a KOLOSS and Holaus Animation production, will be premiering at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival as part of the Short Film Program!

Caries is a new entry on Bonobostudio’s distribution roster. This drawing on paper, ink and aquarelle animated film follows a shaman woman eager to create a monumental work of art, while remaining blissfully unaware that she is painting her murals inside the mouth of a vain weather presenter.

Swiss artist Aline Höchli did a massive job on the project, taking on the role of scriptwriter, director, animator editor and producer in front of KOLOSS Studio, which she founded in 2016.

The Sundance Film Festival will take place from January 23–February 2, 2025, in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, US. It will showcase a total of 57 short films, presented in eight curated Short Film Programs that include fiction, nonfiction, and animated titles from all around the world. Caries is one of the thirteen films competing in the Animated Short Films program.

The festival’s Short Film Program is a hot spot for the next generation of film talents and raw, exciting and inspired filmmaking. Check out all 57 short titles here.
