Anifilm is a festival for animated film from Trebon, taking place at the beginning of May. This year the Festival had very strong competition programmes of short and feature animation films, and it went quite well for the Father team! The Croatian co-producer of the film Vanja Andrijević was one of the tutors for the participants of the pitching forum, German co-producer Christian Müller and co-director Moritz Mayerhofer had a presentation of their work at the Forum, both Vanja and Christian were jury members at the pitching forum and as icing on cake - Father won The Best Short Film Award!

We have to mention that another film from Bonobostudio distribution was taking part in the short film competition, Nightingales in December by Theodore Ushev.

We should aslo mention that the feature film jury: Igor Prassel, the director of Animateka Ljubljana, famous author Regina Pessoa and Amid Amidi, writer and editor of the influential website Cartoon Brew awarded the films Consuming Spirits, The Day of the Crows and It's Such a Beautiful Day.

Besides a number of screenings Anifilm also hosted Visegrad Animation Forum, a 3-day event which gathered 140 animation professionals - directors, producers, distributors, festival organizers and TV commissioners - and we were very happy to see many familiar faces there. The central points were pitching sessions for short film and TV series projects in development but there were also interesting presentations, lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and of course many chances for informal meetings and parties.

We were proud to have some more Croatian representatives at the Forum: the producer Dijana Mlađenović who pitched her TV project The Adventures of Gloria Scott and received some very good feedback for it, the TV editor Krešimir Zubčić from Croatian Television who worked a lot on networking and collaboration possibilities with other European colleauges and Swiss-Croatian filmmaker Michaela Müller who presented her work in paint on glass animation technique.

And we were especially proud of the presentation of a stop motion feature film in development 2 1/2 Bodies by our Finnish friends and partners, the director Tatu Pojavirta and producer Petri Rossi!
